A group of people who believe in self-suficiency, organic farming (permaculture), squatting and doing insubordination to the system, squatted this place in december 96 for giving the place a real use, where we wanted to live (not only think) in all we trust in.
Since that december many groups have joined Can Pasqual creating a resistance creativity net that is growing with all you: women groups, other squatters, anti-militarist collectives between others. There have been also workshops, meetings around topics such as: economic globalization, clean energies, alternative to car transports or transgenetical enginerie.
We also participated in the Segundo Encuentro Zapatista Contra el Neoliberalismo y por la Humanidad in july 97 when we hosted a discussion table in alternative economies.
As we believe in self-suficiency we make our own biological bread for the house and for selling to other squatted social centres in barcelona. We also refused net electricity for not being accomplices of the dam and nuclear electric power stations and have some solar panels.
As you may know, squatting in Spain is illegal. In the civil code until 1996 and in the penal code since then according to fucking new european political (read police ) lines.
